Roles and Responsibilities in SAP BASIS implementation:

Implementation is an activity to deploy any new software component into an organization. Installation, configuration, security, adoption, customizing and development, transportation, training and GO –LIVE.
Ø Designed server architecture and performed sizing to define hardware required for the customer.
Ø Involved in designing in DR/standby site planning, design, deployment and execution (DB).
Ø Defined and designed various clients like Golden Client, Test Client based on customer implementation strategy.
Ø Configuring extended client transport and transport mechanism.
Ø Installation of development server (DEV) with central system architecture and Quality server (QAS) with distributed architecture and high availability on production System (PRD).
Ø Installed various versions of SAP components like ERP, SRM, SCM, PLM, CRM etc..,
Ø Installed SAP GUI and configured logon groups etc..,
Ø Applied patches and maintained versions for SAP applications.
Ø Performed SAP Kernel upgrade.
Ø Designing policies for Notes Application and Package Implementation.
Ø Worked with security and network team ensuring installation and connectivity of SAP frontend for remote site users.
Ø Delta upgrade for PI-Basis component on BW server installation of BI cont component through SAINT.
Ø Configuration of SAP Help library through SR13.
Ø Knowledge of designing and implementing disaster recovery solution by means of transaction log shipping SQL specific.
Ø Performed post installation activities specific to ERP component.
Ø Setup transport management system along with Virtual Systems, Layers, Routes, etc..,
Ø Defined three system landscape and established communication between them.
Ø Deployed SAP Notes based on requirement from functional teams.
Ø Defined system settings and client settings based on the system and client roles.
Ø Worked with hardware venders to finalize the hardware team to finalize the hardware.
Ø Installed additional languages like Arabic, Korea, Japanese based on requirements.
Ø Worked with SAP team to finalize the software required for the customer.
Ø Enabled the web functionality for SAP ERP system (Internet communication framework).
Ø Worked with installation and startup issues of SAP ERP system.
Ø Configured profile parameters for default and instance profiles.
Ø Had extensive knowledge on client copy strategies, client comparison and adjustment.
Ø Worked with Trans directory to transport the requests and analyze the issues of transportation.
Ø Transported the objects in the landscape as per the system definitions in STMS.
Ø Worked with End users to configure printers, GUI and other issues.
Ø Prepared a process documentation and end user documentation for training End users.
Ø Prepared a handover checklist to get the sign from the users in the Basis prospective.
Ø Configured backup, performed backup and tested for its consistency.
Ø Communicated with SAP to connect GO-LIVE sessions.
Ø Configured the recommended parameters as per GO-LIVE report.
Ø Defined a schedule to parallel run to move data from legacy systems to SAP systems.
Ø Worked with client specific, cross client customizing requests.
Ø Participated in multi-landscape design solution, architecture recommendation and strategies for continuous improvement.
